American National values contributions to the community
"Volunteering is an honor. I love that American National participates in giving back to the community.
Every year I get to do something different and make an impact in someone’s life.
When I volunteered, it was truly heartwarming to see the children receive the assistance they needed." -KH
American National Volunteers
Service is one of our core values, and we’re committed to helping our employees and our communities thrive. American National Volunteers provides employees with one day a year to volunteer at a local charity of their choice. We encourage employees to sign up together on a project– it’s a great bonding and team-building experience that also helps us to give back to our communities.
In addition to American National Volunteers, we give to charities that are important to the company and our employees, such as:
United Way. American National employees contribute approximately $200,000 every year, which directly support programs in the areas surrounding Galveston and Houston, Texas; Springfield, Missouri; and Albany New York. Employees also participate in volunteer activities such as Day of Caring, Summer Meals programs and disaster relief efforts.
American Cancer Society Relay for Life. American National teams participate in Relay for Life, raising money for cancer research and cancer patients.
Breast Cancer Awareness. Employees participate in D-Feet Breast Cancer and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks in their local communities. These provide funding for screening mammograms for uninsured or underserved women, early detection programs and more.
Salvation Army. American National supports the Salvation Army by providing funding and donations for back-to-school clothing drive, food drives and the Angel Tree holiday drive.
